Czech police extends checks on passengers arriving in Prague airport

Czech foreign police will check passengers arriving in the Czech Republic, besides the flights from and to Paris in connection with the terrorist attacks in France.

They have extended checks to include passengers from other flights, said Czech foreigner police spokeswoman Katerina Rendlova on Monday.

Rendlova did not specify on which lines the police focus. She said foreigner police checked all passengers flying from and to Paris at the Prague airport.

There were increased police activity in public and private areas of the airport. Police officers with automatic rifles and dog handlers with dogs trained to search for explosives were patrolling the airport.

According to Rendlova, the armed escort of planes under the foreigner police was also on alert.

Prague airport spokeswoman Marika Janouskova said ordinary passengers should not notice any intensified security measures so far, the airport takes no special security measures beyond the standard checks at the departures counter. Endit
