Heat down Clippers 104-90

Whiteside coming off the bench scored a career highs 23 points and 16 rebounds as the Heats beat the Los Angeles Clippers 104-90 on Sunday night.

Chris Bosh scored 34 points and Dwyane Wade had 17 points and 10 assists for the Heat, which ended a three-game road losing streak.

"It means a lot," Whiteside said after the game. "I always try to come in and just play as hard as I can and keep proving people wrong."

"He did a really good job of controlling the paint," the heat teammate Bosh said.

Blake Griffin scored 26 points. J.J. Redick finished with 14 points and Chris Paul had 23 points and nine assists for the Clippers.

The Clippers took a 19-6 lead. "We started the game well and just didn't do a good job after that," Griffin said

The Heat then surged a 24-10 run to lead 62-53 at the break. The Clippers cut the deficit within seven points with 2 minutes left before Bosh burying a 3-pointer to clinch the victory. Endi
