U.S., partners continue airstrikes against IS in Syria, Iraq

U.S. and partner countries have conducted 19 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) forces in Syria and Iraq over the past two days, the U.S. Defense Department said Sunday.

Ten airstrikes were conducted in Syria, destroying 15 IS fighting positions, an IS tactical unit, an IS shipping container, an IS vehicle and an IS supply cache, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the international military forces conducted nine airstrikes in Iraq, destroying three large IS units, four IS buildings, four IS tactical units, seven IS vehicles and 21 IS boats.

Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Iraq included Australia, Belgium, Britain, Canada, Denmark, France and the Netherlands. Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Syria included Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Endi
