Opposition presidential candidate Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic leads in the presidential run-off on Sunday, according to results from 97.5 percent of the polling stations, State Electoral Committee (SEC) said in a press conference.
Kitarovic, candidate from largest opposition party Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), won 50.54 percent of vote while incumbent President Ivo Josipovic got 49.46 percent, said Branko Horvatin, the president of SEC. (Croatia-Run-off)

ALGIERS -- Around 20 people were injured and 18 houses were set on fire with 15 people arrested in a new wave of sectarian violence that hit the province of Ghardaia, 600 km south east of Algiers, over the weekend.
After nearly two calm months, the clashes between the Chaamba community which is of Arab origin, and Mozabite Berbers of the Muslim Ibadi sect, erupted again, whilst elders warned that the region cannot withstand additional violence. They also urged the government to intervene. (Algeria-Clashes)

PRAGUE -- Bad weather battered the Czech Republic in the weekend, fallen trees caused by strong winds hampered rail transport and damaged power supply to hundreds of households, rainfall together with melted snow raised the water level of many rivers.
Some rail tracks blocked by fallen trees, Czech Rail (CD) registered 26 such cases and four breakdowns of electric traction from Saturday morning to Sunday noon. No one was reported injured. CD spokeswoman Radka Pistoriusova said trains were stopped in no more than 50 cases throughout the weekend. (Czech Republic-Weather)

PARIS -- An unprecedented flood of people, headed by leaders from Europe and other countries, streamed in Paris on Sunday to protest indignatly against terrorism and racism after shootings claimed by gunmen killing 17 victims in the French capital.

SYDNEY -- A man has died in police custody after being tasered by officers at a McDonald's restaurant in Bowral, the authorities said on Monday.
