1st LD: Twin blasts hit mobile phone market in NE Nigeria, casualties unknown

Xinhua, January 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Twin blasts hit a local mobile phone market in Potiskum city of northeastern Nigeria's Yobe State on Sunday but casualties figure for now remains unknown, witnesses said.

The blasts were heard within seconds at the Kasuwar Jagwal market, where mobile phone accessories as well as old and new mobile phones are sold in the city, said Amina Mohammed, who noted the place was over-crowded at the time of the incident.

"The first blast occurred inside the market and the other was heard few seconds later, at the main entrance of the market," she said.

As of the time of filing this report, it was still unclear if it was a suicide attack or the explosive devices were hidden inside or outside the market. Endi
