U.S., partners continue airstrikes against IS in Syria, Iraq

U.S. and partner-nation military forces have conducted a total of 15 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) forces in Syria and Iraq over the past two days, the U.S. Defense Department said on Saturday.

According to a statement released by the department, 12 airstrikes were conducted in Syria, destroying 15 fighting positions, three large IS units, an IS building and two IS guard facilities.

Meanwhile, the international military forces launched three airstrikes in Iraq, destroying an IS controlled bridge, two IS armored vehicles, an IS tactical unit and two IS fighting positions.

Coalition nations conducting airstrikes in Iraq include the U.S., Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. And those conducting airstrikes in Syria include the U.S., Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Endi
