Xinhua, January 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Iran has started mass production of Sa'eqeh fighter jets, the Tehran Times daily quoted an air force spokesman as saying on Thursday.

Sa'eqeh fighter jets would meet the needs of the Iranian air force for the time being and "it would be altered and modified in line with the requirements," Brigadier General Hossein Chitforoush said in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency.

Chitforoush added that the fighter jet is now at the disposal of the air force and is patrolling the Iranian skies.

Derived from the American Northrop F-5, Sa'eqeh is an Iranian built single-seat jet fighter. It was tested successfully in Iran on 20 Sep. 20, 2007. Enditem
