Editor's Note: Customers buy fresh vegetables without the help of a cashier at the self-service vegetable market located in the Jinlong community of Luzhou city in Sichuan province on Dec. 2, 2014. A few days ago, the first self-service vegetable supermarket in Luzhou opened here. The market offers more than twenty kinds of vegetables, including kidney beans and eggplants, provided by the Jinba Vegetable Professional Cooperatives. The vegetables have been put on the shelves and labeled with prices, and a scale and coin box have been set up next to the shelves. People can buy fresh vegetables by themselves and pay conscientiously. This supermarket has only been operating for a little more than twenty days, but it has already sold more than one thousand kilograms of vegetables. It not only satisfies the needs of nearby residents but also provides favorable prices that satisfy customers.
