A Mexican delegation on Friday arrived in Shanghai, China, to present the Mexican pavilion model and set the first stone for its construction at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
The delegation will hold a ceremony in the morning of August 6 to launch the project, said ProMexico, an agency for the promotion of Mexican trade and investment.
It is expected to present a miniature of the Mexican pavilion at a reception at noon that day, it said.
The Mexican pavilion will cover a surface of 4,000 square meters, and it will feature three independent areas to represent the country's past, present and future.
ProMexico said the Mexican pavilion will be decorated with kites, an important element in both Mexican and Chinese cultures.
The Shanghai World Expo will last for six months from May 1 to October 31 next year.
