Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang vowed on Tuesday to cooperate with the international community to safeguard world financial and economic stability.
"In face of the grim situation of the world economy, the most important task for us now is to manage our own affairs well," Li told visiting Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Ovik Abramyan.
The fundamental and long-term trend of the country's economic development remained unchanged despite difficulties brought about by the global financial crisis, he said, adding sustaining its own economy would be China's biggest contribution to the world economy.
He acknowledged that currently China witnessed increasing difficulties in its economy because of the rapid spread of the financial crisis and the downturn of the world economy.
The Chinese government had made timely adjustments to its macroeconomic policies, and carry out an active fiscal policy as well as a moderately easy monetary policy, Li said. Meanwhile, the country had taken various measures to expand domestic demand and maintain stable and relatively fast economic growth, he added.
With regard to Sino-Armenian ties, the vice premier spoke highly of the progress in bilateral exchanges and cooperation since the two sides forged diplomatic ties 16 years ago.
He told Abramyan China treasures its relations with Armenia, and would like to join hands with the country to expand investment and facilitate cooperation in diversified areas.
In response, Abramyan said his country is ready to deepen win-win cooperation with China in various fields. He also appreciated the support and aid China offered to Armenia's social and economic development.
