Construction of Huangpu-River-crossing Tunnel Starts in Shanghai

 Workers are seen on the construction site of the West Changjiang Road Tunnel in Shanghai, east China, Dec. 26, 2008. The construction of the Huangpu-River-crossing tunnel started Friday. Designed to connect Shanghai's Baoshan and Pudong Districts, the principal part of the 4912-meter-long (2803 meters for the tunnel itself) and 6-track project will be completed by the end of 2011.
