Ethiopia's State Minister of Finance and Economic Development Ahmed Shide
on Tuesday hailed China's "exemplary role" in supporting Ethiopia's endeavor to address poverty and improve the livelihoods of its people.
Shide made the comment at a joint dinner reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia and the Chinese mission to the African Union (AU) here to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Ahmed reiterated that the overall relations between the two countries are being strengthened with a new dynamism.
"Since recently we are witnessing a new dynamism in the cooperation between the two friendly countries. The government to government, party-to-party, people-to-people, and business-to-business relations between China and Ethiopia is flourishing and is built on strong foundation," he said.
"China has played an exemplary role in supporting Ethiopia's' relentless struggle to extricate its people from poverty and improve the livelihoods of its people," noted the state minister.
Recalling Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn's recent fruitful visit to China, the state minister said Ethiopia highly appreciated the decision of the Chinese leadership to assist Ethiopia in terms of infrastructure connectivity, manufacturing and poverty reduction and closely cooperate in education, health and aviation.
He also noted that Ethiopia is keen to further strengthen and deepen its relations and cooperation with China as it sees China a serious development partner.
