EGP invited senior European experts to China

In April 2014, to support the draft of the new Amendment to the Environmental Protection Law, EGP invited senior European experts to China to hold a consultation seminar for Legislative Affair Committee, National People’s Congress and MEP. The seminar discussed key issues in the new Environmental Protection law including environmental rights, citizen’s environmental obligations, environmental public interest litigation, procedures of public participation and EU experiences in coping with “NIMBY “conflicts. Director Li of Department of Policy and Law, MEP expressed his expectation for EGP to continue to support development and revision of environmental laws and policies in China. He also suggested to design a sub-project in environmental economic policies.
