Senior Official Calls for More Efforts in Corruption War

A senior Chinese official on Wednesday called for more efforts to improve the Communist Party of China's (CPC) work style, uphold integrity and combat corruption.

"The Party and governments at all levels should work hard to prevent corruption at source," said He Guoqiang, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC, during an inspection tour of Tianjin.

He, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said more intra-Party supervision and other monitoring mechanisms should be enhanced to curb power abuse, official mistakes and misconduct.
