Senior Official Urges Advances in Anti-graft Work

A top discipline inspection official called on Tuesday for advancing anti-corruption work and making contributions to reconstruction in the wake of the May 12 earthquake in Sichuan Province.

He Guoqiang, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), said discipline inspection departments at all levels should improve their anti-graft work through learning from quake relief heroes.

"You should learn from their loyalty to the Party to fully implement the policies and decisions of the Party, learn from their care about the people's interest to safeguard the people's fundamental interest, and learn from their fearlessness to advance the anti-graft work selflessly and intrepidly," he said.

He, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during a conference where officials in discipline inspection departments share their experiences during the quake relief.
