A general report on China's sustainable development was released
on Sunday, vowing that China will work harder to upgrade its
sustainable development to join the world's top ten by 2050.
The national volume of the report, titled General Outline on
China's Sustainable Development, says that in fifty years,
China will already have resolved its problems that hamper its
sustainable development, including population, food, energy,
ecology, and social equality. China will better ensure its
securities in areas of population, food, information, energy,
public health and eco-systems.
According to the report, China's average life expectancy is
expected to reach 85 by 2050. The average span of education for its
population will extend from the current 8.2 years to over 14 years.
China's science development will also witness an over 75 percent
contribution to its national economy by 2050. The value created by
per capita GDP energy and resource consumption will be increased by
15 to 20 times by 2050.
Meanwhile, according to the report, poverty will also become a
history by 2050, with all poverty-stricken counties to be
disappeared in twenty years. China's population will also see its
zero growth by 2030. Over-consumption of natural resources and
energy and the degradation of eco-environment will also see a
complete reverse in 40 to 50 year.
Over 180 experts in various fields took more than two and half
year to compile the report. The over 13 million word report include
some 450 illustrations and 1,600 graphs, which give a detailed
portray of China's sustainable development in the upcoming 50
years.
