The Malaysian Health Ministry said on Wednesday that 12 more cases of A/H1N1 had been confirmed, bringing the total cases in Malaysia to 80.

The ministry said that among the latest cases confirmed, ten were imported ones and two were locally transmitted cases of the disease.

Meanwhile, Malaysia's southern state of Johor reported its first confirmed A/H1N1 flu case on Wednesday, which involved a female student, 19, who returned to Johor from Melbourne, Australia, via the Changi Airport in Singapore on Monday.

Most cases of the disease were found within the Klang Valley, a wide urban area covering Kuala Lumpur and several major cities in the Selangor State, including Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.

So far, Malaysia recorded a total of 12 locally transmitted cases.
