The number of influenza A/H1N1 confirmed cases rose to 386 in New Zealand on Wednesday, up 22 from 364 on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health said.
There were also 549 suspected cases.
While the number of confirmed cases in New Zealand continued to rise, the Ministry of Health said most people who develop non-seasonal Influenza A/H1N1 will have mild to moderate symptoms and will recover at home without needing medical treatment.
However, as with any influenza, a small number of people will develop more severe symptoms, it added.
