Philippine Athlete Confirmed for A/H1N1 Flu in Singapore

One athlete from the Philippines football team who arrived on Thursday has been confirmed for Influenza A/H1N1, Singapore's Health Ministry said on Saturday.
The ministry said that the athlete who arrived here for the Asian Youth Games developed symptoms on Friday afternoon. Fever was detected during the routine temperature taking. Laboratory results confirmed his infection this morning and he was admitted to the Communicable Disease Center (CDC). His condition is stable.
The ministry said that the close contacts will be quarantined, and the matches involving the Philippines football team will be postponed, adding that the Asian Youth Games will go on, which will be held here from June 29 to July 7.
