An Indonesian citizen coming from Australia was detected of having symptoms of swine flu when he arrived in Singapore, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Spokesman of the ministry Teuku Faizasyah said that currently Oei Williem Widyanata was having a quarantine treatment at a hospital in Singapore.
"Williem's status is suspect of having swine flu," Faizasyah told a press conference here.
The influenza virus of sub type A (H1N1) has entered Australia and can make adaptation to live on tropical areas, as it has spread to Thailand, South Korea and Malaysia.
Faizasyah said that Williem would not return to Indonesia as all of his family's members are in Singapore.
