Singapore Confirms 2 More Influenza A/H1N1 Cases

Singapore confirmed two more Influenza A/H1N1 cases on Monday, bringing the number of total cases to seven.
According to Singapore's Health Ministry, one of the newly confirmed cases is a 36-year-old Singaporean male who was in Manila on a business trip from May 18 to 29. He returned to Singapore from Manila on May 29 on Singapore Airlines SQ917, and developed symptoms on May 30.
The patient also informed the ministry that a passenger who was seated next to him appeared unwell and was coughing during the flight. The ministry is trying to identify the ill passenger to assess his health condition.
The other case is a 30-year-old Australian male tourist who had traveled to the United States from May 14 to 30. He developed symptoms on May 26 while he was in New York. He arrived in Singapore from New York via Frankfurt on SQ25 on June 1.
The ministry said the two patients have been admitted to local hospitals, adding that it is tracing close contacts with these two patients.
