Thailand's Public Health Ministry has cooperated with the Education Ministry to curb the A/H1N1 flu outbreak at schools nationwide.
Schools will be directed to often clean all common touches such as elevators, doors, telephones, and toys, Dr. Paijit Warajit, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Health at the Public Health Ministry said on Friday.
The Ministries' latest move is aimed to ensure schools nationwide will have the same standard rules in preventing the new deadly virus outbreak, according to Thai Public Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai.
As the A/H1N1 flu outbreak is widely occurring around the world, domestically it is more risky during the current raining season, said Witthaya.
"The A/H1N1 flu outbreak's global situation is changing rapidly and is spreading in many continents, Thais have to alert," said the Public Health Minister.
Hence, from Friday schools will be suggested to alert and implement the preventive measures to fight both normal human flu and the potential A/H1N1 flu outbreak, Witthaya said.
Since May 12, the Public Health Ministry said Thailand has had its first two A/H1N1 flu cases. However, the patients have already recovered and will not spread the deadly flu disease to others. The two persons had returned from Mexico.
