A third A/H1N1 flu case was confirmed on Wednesday in Greece, according to an announcement issued by the Greek Health Ministry.
The 21-year-old Greek national returned from Edinburg along with the second Greek who was tested positive to the new flu virus.
Health Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos called an emergency meeting of the expert committee set up to address the new type of flu. The ministry yet again reiterated that public health in Greece runs no risk and that everything is under control.
Avramopoulos stressed that there is no risk for public health. "All the public hospitals are on standby and in constant contact with the World Health Organization," he noted.
Greece's first confirmed A/H1N1 flu case, a 19-year-old man studying in the United States, was discharged from hospital in Athens on Saturday after seven days of treatment.
