The New Zealand health authorities said they discovered three new cases of probable Influenza A/H1N1 cases on Tuesday as they maintain efforts to limit the spread of the virus.
Health Ministry Deputy Director of Public Health Fran McGrath said New Zealand now has six confirmed cases of the flu, 15 probable cases and 92 suspected ones.
A group of six passengers who arrived in Auckland on Tuesday morning on a Qantas flight from Los Angeles, have joined the tally of suspected cases.
The Health Ministry said the six and 16 close contacts of the group, were being treated in isolation in Auckland.
A total of 309 people are in isolation or quarantine and being treated with Tamiflu.
The ministry said there is still no evidence of the virus spreading to people who have not traveled to the affected areas or been in close contact with someone who has.
However, Health Ministry Deputy Director of Public Health Darren Hunt emphasized on Tuesday that there was still a chance the virus could keep mutating and be a threat.
Hunt said remaining vigilant was particularly important as New Zealand was headed into the traditional winter flu season.
