A load of medicine against influenza A (H1N1) donated by the World Health Organization (WHO) reached the airport of Toncontin in Honduras on Monday morning.

The medicine will be sent to the Honduran Institute of the Thorax in Tegucigalpa, to the Mario Catarino Rivas Hospital of San Pedro Sula (north) and to the Integrado Atlantida hospital in La Ceiba (Caribbean), Honduran Health Minister Carlos Aguilar said.

This is the first load that Honduras received in donation, after the national Congress approved last week to use US$2 million to buy antiviral medicines.
