30 New A/H1N1 Cases Confirmed in Europe

Thirty new confirmed A/H1N1 influenza cases were reported in European countries within the last 24 hours, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said on Monday.

Of the new cases, 24 were confirmed in Spain, three in Britain, two in Germany and one in Italy.

With the new cases, the total number of confirmed cases of the A/H1N1 flu virus in the EU (European Union) and EEA/EFTA (European Economic Area/European Free Trade Association) rose to 79, the ECDC said in its daily situation report.

All but one confirmed case have mild course and no deaths have been reported in the EU and EEA/EFTA countries, it added.

The ECDC publishes a daily situation report about A/H1N1 influenza cases in the EU and EEC/EFTA countries based on official information from these countries.
