The Swiss government advised its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Mexico on Tuesday due to the wide spread of a new fatal swine flu virus.
Meanwhile, the Federal Health Office said nine Swiss who had just returned from Mexico all had the symptoms of influenza and were in quarantine, the official Swissinfo news website reported.
Initial test results for the nine suspected cases were expected soon, according to the report.
