Prague Airport Offers Info on Swine Flu Symptoms, Medical Checks

Prague's Ruzyne airport on Monday put up boards with information on swine flu symptoms and possible medical examination as a preventative measure following an outbreak of the deadly disease in Mexico and the United States, local media said.

The city's Bulovka Teaching Hospital infections clinic is ready to receive possible patients, Czech chief sanitary commissioner Michael Vit was quoted by the CTK news agency as saying.

First Deputy Health Minister Marek Snajdr said preventative measures are intended to prevent a possible spread of the disease, and that the ministry will announce details at a briefing later Monday, the CTK reported.

Reports said that the Czech Republic is believed to have enough medicine effective in treating the swine flu.

The country has two million doses of medication, which will be sufficient for 20 percent of its population to use, Vit said.

The deadly disease has killed 103 people in Mexico. It has also infected 20 people in the United States.

So far, the swine flu has been largely limited to the North American continent, but the Spanish health ministry on Monday confirmed a first case of the disease in the country involving a man, as well as other six suspected cases.

Suspected or confirmed cases of swine flu were also reported in Canada, New Zealand, Israel, France and Brazil.
