US First Lady Michelle Obama has promoted arts education while treating her foreign counterparts to tours of two of Pittsburgh's leading cultural institutions.
Mrs. Obama and G20 world leaders' spouses visited the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School. Addressing the leaders' wives and hundreds of the school's students, Mrs. Obama noted the long-standing practice in which world leaders' spouses share the arts.
Students and spouses were then treated to a half-hour show from performers. Before the show, spouses visited classrooms to watch student rehearsals. Afterward, spouses crossed the Allegheny River for a tour and luncheon at the Andy Warhol Museum.
