Rescuers Friday found three people from the rubble of a rain-triggered landslide in east China's Zhejiang Province where at least four others were still buried.

The landslide occurred at 5:00 AM Friday on a rain-soaked hill in Taohua Village, Chun'an County. Debris swamped three residential houses, burying seven residents.

According to the rescuers, One of the three people they found was proclaimed dead, while two others were said to have shown life signs.

Rescue was underway for the four others missing.

Provincial meteorological authorities forecast Thursday the downpours would continue for another week. Chun'an County was among the worst hit by the rains.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs said Thursday the heavy rains that began pounding southern China Sunday had left 46 dead, 50 missing and millions more affected.

The civil affairs bureau in northern Hebei Province said Friday a thunderstorm with sporadic hail hit Zhangjiangkou City from Wednesday to Thursday, leaving two dead and three missing.

The storm hit six counties in Zhangjiakou, with 56,200 residents suffering losses and hundreds of houses collapsing. The rainstorm damaged roads and bridges, and about 7,000 hectares of farmland have been submerged.

Local authorities in Zhangjiakou were evaluating the losses.
