Nepali Team to March in Copenhagen During Climate Meeting

A 57-member Nepali team headed by Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation Deepak Bohara is leaving Nepal for Copenhagen on Monday to hold a march in calling for global measures to save the Himalayas during a climate change meeting.
According to local newspaper The Himalayan Times, the 57-memberCopenhagen-bound team includes 32 Mount Qomolangma (Everest) summiteers, 19-times climber Appa Sherpa, Dawa Steven Sherpa, the oldest climbing record holder Min Bahadur Sherchan and the youngest female climber, Nimduma Sherpa.
The team includes 12 women summiteers.
The march slated for December 11 will last for an hour along the Copenhagen's Walking Street, carrying forward the message -- Save the Himalayas -- as proclaimed from the roof of the World and beyond.
Nepali Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala and some other Nepali high-ranking officials will also join the team in the march.
