The construction of new houses for the quake victims has sped up in the county as Spring Festival approaches. People in Yao'an County in the mountainous Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture, Yunnan Province, suffered a magnitude-6.0 earthquake on July 9, 2009. According to official figures, the earthquake destroyed almost 11,000 houses. [Xinhua]
