China Wins Men's 4x100m Relay after 20 Years, Bahrain Rules Long-distance Races

Bahrain dominated the long-distance races on Friday as Mimi Belete Gebregeiorges clocked in 15:15.59 to take the women's 5,000m gold.
Preeja Sreedharan of India got the silver in 15:15.89, beating her compatriot Kavita Raut to third in 15:16.54.
Bbilisuma Shugi Gelassa, winner of the 5,000m on Sunday, clocked in 27:32.72 to win the men's 10,000m gold medal. Gelassa kissed his shoes after the final.
Essa Ismail Rashed of Qatar got the silver in 27:33.09 and Bahrain's Mahboob Ali Hasan Mahboob placed third in 27:40.07.
Saudi Arabia also claimed two gold medals on Friday which were the men's shot put and 4x400m relay.
Sultan Aboulmajeed Alhabashi won the men's shot put in 20.57 meters, while Chinese Zhang Jun got the silver in 19.59 and Chang Ming Huang of Chinese Taipei finished third in 19.48.
Saudi Arabia won the 4x400m relay title in a season best 3:02.30, beating Japan by only 0.13 second. China took the bronze in 3:03.66.
The men's 4X100m relay gold went to India by clocking 3:29.02. Kazakhstan got the silver in 3:30.03 and China finished third in 3:30.89.
Japan only grabbed one gold Friday in the men's javelin as Yukifumi Murakami made the winning distance of 83.15 meters.
South Korean Park Jaem Young got the silver in 79.92 and Rinat Tarzumanov of Uzbekistan bagged the bronze in 79.65.
Uzbekistan also claimed one as Svetlana Radzivil won the women's high jump by clearing 1.95 meters.
Her compatriot Nadiya Dusanova got the silver in 1.93 meters, while Chinese Zheng Xingjuan and Anna Ustinova of Kazakhstan placed joint third in 1.90 meters.
The last day will see Beijing Olympics bronze medallist Zhou Chunxiu take part in the women's marathon, while in the men's marathon, South Korea Ji Youngjun will meet strong challenge from Chinese Ren Longyun and Dong Guojian.
