Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar won the men's high jump gold medal at the Asian Games here on Tuesday.

Barshim cleared 2.27 meters to take the gold, and Japanese Hiromi Takahari got the silver in 2.23 meters.

The bronze medal was shared by Qatari Rashidahmed Al Mannai, Chinese Huang Haiqiang and Vitaliy Tsykunov of Kazakhstan.
