Mohammed Othman Shaween successfully launched a late sprint to take the men's 1500m gold medal on the Asian Games' track here on Tuesday.

The Saudi Arabia racer, 24, claimed the victory with a time of three minutes and 36.49 seconds, beating Iran's Sajad Moradi to the second place at 0.60 seconds.

Bahrain's Belal Mansoor Ali settled for a bronze medal after clocking in 3:38.39, while the midway leader Emad Hamed M. Noor finished a disappointing fourth with almost one more second behind.
