Malaysia Wins 1st Gold

Wushu player Chai Fongying awarded Malaysia its first gold medal at the Guangzhou Asian Games in women's Taijijian and Taijiquan Combined here on Monday.
Chai scored 19.36 points to win the title of both Taiji sword and shadow boxing competitions under the Taolu category.
Japan's Miyaoka Ai outcast Chen Yi Ying from Chinese Taipei by 0.01 point to win the silver medal with 19.34 points. Chen took the bronze.
More than 140 players will compete for 15 gold medals in Wushu, a full contact sport derived from Chinese martial art. The Chinese, who founded the sport, have won four gold medals in the 10 events they participated.
The sport comprises Taolu (set routines), and Sanshou boxing (free sparring).
