Chinese Swimmers Have No Privilege in Doping Test

Chinese swimmers have no privilege that they also need to take doping test as soon as they arrive at the airport, said Xu Qi, team leader of the Chinese swimming team on Saturday.

Xu made the remarks when responding to some South Korean reporters' saying that their swimming icon Park Tae Hwan was unhappy about taking the doping test at the Guangzhou Baiyun Airport when he just arrived there.

"It's quite normal that athletes take the doping test," said Xu. "Our swimmers like Sun Yang and Zhao Jing were also taking the test in the airport, not just Park Tae Hwan."

Park, men's 400-meter freestyle winner at the Beijing Olympic Games, will take part in seven events at Guangzhou Asiad.

"We should cooperate with the doping test," Xu added. "And we didn't have any privilege as the hosts here in Guangzhou."
