US Chamber of Commerce Sets US$1 Tln Goals for China

The American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham-China) on Friday announced three goals to strengthen Sino-US economic ties to be met by 2039.
John Watkins, chairman of AmCham-China, said the goals each set at US$1 trillion a year were: US exports to China; sales of US companies in China; and investment of Chinese companies in the US.
The US government welcomed the three goals, he said.
Bilateral trade was valued at US$333.7 billion in 2008, about 120 times that of 30 years ago..
The two nations mark 30 years of diplomatic ties this year.
AmCham-China is a non-profit organization that represents US companies and individuals doing business in China.
The AmCham-China's membership comprises more than 2,700 individuals from over 1,200 companies.
