China's Foreign Trade Down for 7th Month

China's exports and imports shrank for the seventh month in row in May, the General Administration of Customs said on Thursday.

Exports fell 26.4 percent in May from the same period a year ago to US$88.758 billion. Imports were down 25.2 percent to US$75.36 billion.
The trade surplus was US$13.39 billion.
The combined foreign trade in May was worth US$164.13 billion, down 25.9 percent year on year, down 3.1 percent from that for April.
Exports in the five months to May totaled US$426.14 billion, down 21.8 percent, and imports went down 28 percent to US$337.34 billion over the same period.
