Chinese Shares Up 1.78% as Gov't Supports Buoy Confidence

Chinese equities rose 1.78 percent on Friday amid recovered investor confidence following the government's frequent moves to support economy, analysts said.
The Shanghai Composite Index gained 34.23 points, or 1.78 percent, to 1,954.44. The Shenzhen Component Index added 1.75 percent, or 118.95 points, to 6,917.48.
Combined turnover expanded to 147.14 billion yuan (US$21.51 billion) from 124.9 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
