Moody's Investors Service will send its credit assessment team to South Korea this week for the country's sovereign credit rating analysis, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance said on Monday.
The team will pay a three-day visit from Wednesday to Friday and hold meetings with officials from the finance ministry, the Bank of Korea, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in order to assess the country's macroeconomic situation, fiscal stability and the DPRK nuclear issue, according to the ministry.
The South Korean government plans to use the meetings to explain the nation's current efforts to tackle the economic crisis and to enhance financial stability, the ministry added.
In July 2007, Moody's upgraded South Korea's sovereign rating one step higher to "A2," its sixth-highest investment grade.
