Peruvian Prime Minister Yehude Simon on Monday called on Latin American countries to unite in the face of the ongoing world economic crisis.
Simon made the call at a private meeting with ambassadors and embassy representatives from 15 Latin American countries, during which Simon discussed with them issues of common interest in Latin America.
"It is necessary that our countries share experiences to face their problems regardless of ideologies," Simon said.
The ambassadors agreed that poverty, health, education and external debt are common problems for countries in the region.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors of Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Guatemala, as well as representatives of the embassies of Bolivia, Costa Rica, Chile, Mexico, and Paraguay in Peru.
