Wine drives tourism
The glamour of wine culture has also facilitated rapid development of wine tourism in Yantai.
Various styles of chateaux including Changyu's 100-year-old cellar, Changyu Wine Culture Museum, and Changyu International Wine City, attract tourists home and abroad to visit.
Together the Yantai operations display almost 1,000 kinds of foreign alcohol from over 300 producers, including wine, whisky and brandy.
As the best promoter of wine tourism, the chateaux give visitors a chance to fully experience wine culture, including picking grapes, crushing, fermenting, storage and tasting.
Chateaux tours have become a highlight of Yantai wine tourism. Changyu International Wine City that opened in September, received more than 1 million visitors from home and abroad in only four months.
