China's Ministry of Agriculture expected the country's summer grain output this year to be close to the level in 2009.

It forecast that total summer grain output this year would top 123 billion kilograms, of which production of winter wheat may top 108.5 billion kilos, a year-on-year increase of 1 billion kilos.
