Indonesia Not to Ban Pork Derivative Products

Indonesia would not ban pork derivative products because they were already processed to guarantee their hygiene, the private news portal detikcom quoted aminister as saying on Wednesday.
"Through the process, virus like swine flue would be killed," said Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu.
She said the ministry would issue a regulation this week to replace the rule of Agricultural Ministry's Animal Husbandry Directorate General on the matter.
She said the move would not be conducted by Indonesia only because at least six countries already did the same thing.
Mari added that Indonesia imported frozen pork, not live pigs, in a small number.
The world is terrorized by the swine flu fear following outbreak in the United States and Mexico.
