Fan Changlong, Xu Qiliang in New CPC Central Committee

Fan Changlong and Xu Qiliang were elected into the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Wednesday morning.

Fan, 65, is member of the 17th CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission. He is former commander of the Jinan Military Area Command of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Xu, 62, is member of the 17th CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission. He is former commander of the Air Force of the PLA.

Fan has served in the PLA army since the 1960s. Xu has served mainly in the PLA air force since the 1960s.
