Foreign Political Leaders, Parties Congratulate China on CPC Congress

Foreign political leaders and parties continued to send congratulatory messages to China on the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which opened Thursday.

Donald Ramotar, Guyana president and general secretary of People's Progressive Party, said in his message that the economic and social conditions of the Chinese people keep improving thanks to the sound leadership of the CPC.

Facing the international financial crisis, China maintains its economic and social progress, which is a source of hope for the people of the world, Ramotar said.

"We are confident that your 18th Congress will provide further guidance for the continued growth and development of your country and your people," he said, adding that the People's Progressive Party looks forward to strengthening its fraternal links with the CPC.

Istvan Ujhelyi, deputy speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly and founder of the World Bridge Foundation, said the 18th CPC congress is of great importance to the CPC.

He said he believes that the new central leadership will push forward China's development, reform and opening-up.

Tsutomu Hata, former Japanese prime minister, member of the House of Representatives and honorary chairman of Japan-China International Communication Promote, and Banri Kaieda, member of the House of Representatives and chairman of Japan-China International Communication Promote, said in their messages that they sincerely wish the CPC congress a full success.

They said they hope China can carry out economic and social reforms and maintain stable growth.

Satsuki Eda, former president of the Japanese House of Councilors, member of the House of Councilors and president of Japan-China Friendship center, said the CPC congress attracts great attention from both China and the international community. The Japanese people also concern much about China's new central leadership and guiding principles created during the congress.

Milo Djukanovic, president of Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro, said in his message that on one hand the 18th CPC congress will sum up past achievements, and on the other hand it will write a blueprint for China's all-round social development in the future.

As an important event in the CPC's political life, the CPC congress will surely pave a broader way for the economic and social development with Chinese characteristics, he said, adding that they feel proud to have such a friend like the CPC.

Pierre Ngolo, secretary-general of Congolese Party of Labor, highly praises and appreciates the CPC's tireless efforts to improve Chinese people's well-being, and feels encouraged by the CPC's accurate judgement of the new era's strategic focus.

He said in the message that China has become an important force on the international stage, and the successful experience made by the socialism with Chinese characteristics has drawn worldwide attention.

The Congolese Party of Labor has reasons to believe that the 18th CPC congress will make China to achieve more achievements in its socialist cause, he added.

The People's Liberation Movement of Angola (MPLA) said in a congratulatory message that it appreciates the cause which the CPC is undertaking and the CPC has transformed China into a country that the world respects.

At this crucial juncture, the MPLA reiterated that it is willing to further strengthen the existing ties of friendly cooperation between the two parties, the MPLA Political Bureau said in the message.

Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) First Vice-President Robert Amaral said in a message that the CPC not only has led the Chinese people to found a new China but also transformed China into the world's second largest economy from a backward agricultural country.

Amaral said that PSB rejoices at China's achievements and closely follows the various reforms that China is carrying out, and PSB wishes the CPC's 18th National Congress a success.

"The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is not only a significant event for the Chinese people but also for the whole world," said the Lao Committee for Peace and Solidarity.

"We follow (the 18th National Congress of the CPC) with great interests and we are confident that important decisions will be taken that accelerate even further economic transformations and development so as to build an even more prosperous society in China," the Committee said in a message.

Japan Peace Committee (JPC) extended its cordial greetings of solidarity and congratulation to the CPC congress.

"Our two movements have promoted solidarity and cooperation for our common tasks including a peaceful Asia and a world without nuclear weapons, based on the cause of friendship of both peoples. We hope this will continue and develop," said the committee.

The committee said that it has been consistently demanding the Japanese government to reflect on the aggression in history, adding it is doing its utmost "to prevent the rise of right-reactionary trends in the politics and to defend peaceful provisions of the Japanese Constitution."
