China, UNICEF work together to improve living conditions, education for children

CHINA-UNICEF-CHILDREN CARE (CN)

 

A volunteer reads for children at a children welfare house in Lingshan County of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Sept. 20, 2020. The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and China's Ministry of Civil Affairs launched a pilot programme about Children care in China in 2019. Over 400 villages of Lingshan County have been covered in the project and community-based children-friendly spaces been promoted to deliver protection and welfare services to rural children. Starting from the year of 1979, the UNICEF has invested over 675 million US dollars for improving the living condition and education for Chinese children on over 160 programmes cooperated with the Chinese government.
