woman helps villagers shake off poverty through livestreaming

Xinhua,April 29, 2020 Adjust font size:

Zhou Hongzhen prepares preserved pork for guests in Dongwan Village of Baoan Town, Luonan County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, April 27, 2020. Far away from densely populated areas, Dongwan Village is a good place for ecological breeding in the eyes of post-90s villager Zhou Hongzhen. In order to help customers have a comprehensive understanding of her pigs, Zhou broadcasts live on time every day to show the breeding environment and growth of pigs. At the end of 2018, the first batch of pigs were put on the market and sold out through the Internet. The annual amount of piglets on hand at Zhou Hongzhen's pig breeding base has increased to 1,200, with an annual profit of more than 800,000 yuan (about 113,063 U.S. dollars). Zhou has not only embarked on the road of prosperity, but also helped three poverty-stricken households in the village out of poverty. (Xinhua/Tao Ming)
