Chinese pears first exported to Brazil

Staff of the Shijiazhuang Customs check the quality of fresh pears for export in the city of Cangzhou, north China's Hebei Province, Jan. 14, 2020. A total of 32.4 tonnes of fresh pears were sent from north China's Hebei Province to Brazil, the first batch exported to the largest consumption market of pears in Latin America. China is the world's largest grower and exporter of pears, exporting about 500,000 tonnes a year. Brazil is the world's second-largest importer of pears, after Russia, importing about 300,000 tonnes a year. (Xinhua/Mu Yu)
